Betteke van Ruler

Betteke van Ruler is emeritus hoogleraar corporate communicatie en communicatiemanagement plus mede-oprichter van de Van Ruler Academy. In haar carrière is de brug tussen theorie en praktijk het centrale thema. Zij werkt(e) als communicatieprofessional, daarna als docent communicatie in het hbo, en sinds 1996 als wetenschapper. In de loop van de tijd heeft zij talloze boeken en artikelen over communicatiemanagement gepubliceerd en verzorgt zij trainingen en in-company trajecten.

Door de internationale vereniging van communicatie-wetenschappers, International Communication Association, is Van Ruler in mei 2018 benoemd tot Fellow, een erkenning van de bijzondere wetenschappelijke bijdragen aan het brede onderzoeksgebied van de communicatie.

Betteke van Ruler is a leading scholar in corporate communication and public relations. She began her career as a communication professional herself, moving
to teaching in the 1980s and to academic research in the 1990s. She was recently awarded the honorary title of Officer in the Civil Order of Orange-Nassau for her work in bridging the gap between academic theory and practice. That became apparent early on through her books and articles for the profession and numerous lectures, clinics, workshops, and recently a new book entitled Strategic Communication Frame, an agile method for developing a strategy.
