Yalla Yalla! Part 1 Workbook | Boek
Arabic for beginners English
An engaging way to learn Arabic
Yalla Yalla! is a modern and effective method for learning Arabic. Suitable for both secondary and adult education, this first part takes learners halfway to CEFR level A1.
This English edition of the workbook helps learners practise the material from the course. Through a wide range of exercises, you build confidence in using vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and everyday communication skills.
Written and spoken Arabic
Arabic has distinct written and spoken forms. The method focuses on Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the variety used for reading and writing. In the Dutch edition, the complete course consists of a textbook, workbook, writing practice guide and separate dialect supplements. Together they include dialogues, listening and reading activities, grammar explanations, the Arabic alphabet, cultural background information and glossaries.
In addition, separate course books are available for Syrian, Egyptian and Moroccan Arabic, allowing learners to practise everyday conversations in these dialects. Audio, video and additional practice materials are also online available.
This workbook is an English translation of the Dutch edition and is intended to support learners who do not have a command of Dutch.
For the classroom and self-study
Yalla Yalla! has been developed for use in both secondary and adult education and is equally suitable for independent study.
Yalla Yalla! was originally published by Uitgeverij Coutinho and is now published by Boom. The content and structure of the method remain unchanged.
